What is PokéBonk?
PokéBonk (people also search Poke Bonk or Pokebonk game) is a 3D survivor game, the genre made popular by Vampire Survivors and Megabonk, rebuilt around the original 151 Kanto Pokémon. Your Pokémon attacks on its own; your job is to move, dodge, jump and choose upgrades while wild Pokémon pour in from every side. Runs are short, every level-up is a choice, and progress carries over between runs.
The game is an open beta (version 0.6.2 when we tested it on October 18, 2026). It is free, runs in nine languages and works on desktop and mobile browsers. Interest in it took off in mid-October 2026, together with searches for poke survivor and pokesurvivor.
How to play PokéBonk
- Play as a guest. No sign-up is needed. Your progress is saved on the server and tied to your device; you can turn it into an account later.
- Choose your partner. Pick Bulbasaur (Healer, Vine Whip), Charmander (Fiery Assault, Ember) or Squirtle (Defender, Water Gun). It becomes the first member of your League. You catch the other two later by completing their challenge in a run.
- Pick a region and mode. Season 1 starts in Viridian Forest (Grass, Bug, Normal and Flying Pokémon); the Rocky Desert unlocks later. Classic mode has three zones, each with a 10-minute clock and a guardian, followed by the region's shrine. Survival is endless hordes with milestones.
- Survive and level up. Your starting move fires at the nearest enemy automatically. Collect experience to level up and choose new moves, items and vitamins. Open Poké Balls on the map for items and spend PokéDollars (₽) at Meowth's travelling shop.
- Evolve and use your Ultimate. Your partner evolves during the run (Squirtle at Lv. 24 and Lv. 44). When the Ultimate is charged, press R.
- Beat the guardian, enter the portal. Each zone ends with a guardian. Defeat it to open the portal to the next zone. Alpha Pokémon, legendaries and shinies can also turn up.

PokéBonk tips for your first runs
- Start with Squirtle if you are new. Torrent Shell's +15 armor and +20 shield forgive mistakes, and it gains +40% damage below 40% HP.
- Keep moving. Attacks are automatic, so standing still only lets the horde close in. Circle around groups instead of running straight through them.
- Slide through boss attacks. The game itself hints that Shift slides past bosses' strongest attacks. When a guardian sends a shockwave, take cover or jump over it, and hit it hard to interrupt its big moves.
- Use jumps and terrain. Several upgrades add extra jumps, and flying Pokémon can glide by holding Space; levitating ones can even climb walls.
- Grab the Poké Balls and visit Meowth. Items stack up fast, and the minimap marks what is left once the guardian falls.
- Spend Stardust in the Lab between runs for permanent boosts, and clear the three daily Tasks for extra rewards.
- Try Hard and Nightmare once they unlock: enemies get +70% and +160% stronger, but you earn ×1.75 and ×2.5 Stardust.
- Fix low FPS first. If the game warns that your browser is not using your graphics card, enable hardware acceleration; the difference is huge.
Classic vs Survival mode
Classic is a structured run: three zones, a guardian at the end of each, then the shrine's legendary. It is where you catch new League members and finish challenges. Survival is endless: you are ranked by time survived (KOs break ties), and the game's achievement list includes defeating Mewtwo at minute 45. Each region also has its own leaderboard, but guests do not appear on it.
