How the snake draft works
The draft order is set at random. In round one teams pick 1 → N, in round two the order flips N → 1, and it keeps alternating for all 22 rounds, so the team that picks last in one round picks first in the next. On your turn, tap an open spot on your field, then tap a Pokémon from the board. The board is sorted by how well each Pokémon fits the spot you selected.
CPU managers look at every open spot on their roster and take the best fit still on the board, with a little randomness so no two drafts are the same. Once every roster is full, each team plays 17 weeks against random league opponents and the standings are sorted by wins, then point differential.
