What is Daily Red? A daily Pokémon battle, like Wordle
Daily Red is a daily Pokémon game built around one simple idea: everyone in the world gets the same six random Pokémon today, and everyone faces the same opponent, the legendary trainer Red. Like Wordle, there is one puzzle per day, one official attempt and a spoiler-free emoji grid to share with friends. Unlike Wordle, the puzzle is a turn-based battle. You can't choose your team. You can only choose how to use it.
Our version is a fan-made take on the format that runs right in your browser on the Pokemon All 22 site. It uses the original 151 Pokémon, our own battle formula and a Game Boy style battle screen. There is no download, no sign-up and no cost.
How to play Daily Red
- Check today's team. Six random Gen 1 Pokémon are dealt from the date's seed at 00:00 UTC. Red's six are never in your team.
- Pick your lead. Tap a Pokémon before the battle to send it out first. Red always leads with Pikachu.
- Battle. Each turn choose one of up to four moves or switch to a teammate. The faster Pokémon attacks first.
- Read the matchups. Every move button shows SUPER, WEAK or NO EFFECT against Red's active Pokémon.
- Win and share. Knock out all six of Red's Pokémon. Copy your result, post it to the Hall of Fame and come back tomorrow to keep your streak.
Battle rules at a glance
- All Pokémon are level 50. Each one has a move for each of its types, a coverage move and a Normal move.
- Same-type moves get a 1.5× bonus, type matchups multiply damage by 2×, ½× or 0×, and critical hits (1 in 16) do 1.5×.
- Switching uses your turn, and Red attacks the Pokémon coming in.
Pokémon Trainer Red's team
Red's team never changes, so learning it is the first step to winning. He sends his Pokémon out in this order and never switches voluntarily:
Red picks whichever of his moves would deal the most damage to your active Pokémon, counting type effectiveness. That makes him predictable, and predictable opponents can be beaten.
How to beat Red: quick tips
- Counter Pikachu first. Ground types are immune to Electric and hit Pikachu super-effectively. Grass and Dragon types resist Electric.
- Save Electric and Grass attackers for Lapras and Blastoise, the water half of Red's team.
- Snorlax is slow but bulky. Almost anything outspeeds it. Fighting moves deal double damage, and Ghost types are immune to its Normal attacks.
- Charizard is the speed check. Rock moves are 4× effective against it; Electric and Water are 2×.
- Switch only into resistances. A switch costs a turn, so make sure the incoming Pokémon takes little damage.

Daily Red Pokemon list: replay past days
Missed a day or want a rematch? The 📅 Past Days button above the battle screen opens a grid of every earlier day (with 🏆/❌ marks for days you've replayed); pick one, or step through days with the ← / → buttons, to load that day's team in practice mode, so it never changes your streak or official record. You can also browse the full Daily Red archive, which lists every day's number, date and six Pokémon, with a one-click link to replay it.
Practice mode: unlimited daily Pokémon battles
Finished today's battle? Hit ∞ Practice for a fresh random team every time. It's the best way to learn how the battle system works before tomorrow's official attempt.
Daily Red Hall of Fame and streaks
Beat Red and you can post your win to the daily Hall of Fame, ranked by fewest turns and then most HP left. Every entry is replayed on our server from the day's seed, so the board shows real wins. Your games played, wins and current streak are stored in your browser. Compare challenge scores on the main Pokemon All 22 leaderboard too.
